Horse Oil : A review of Korean GUERISSON 9•COMPLEX HORSE OIL CREAM

I have been thinking of whether to share this skin care product which is causing a great rave and discussion within beauty bloggers and skin care users. I am adamant myself to believe that the use of horse oil in skin care products are just a natural thing. Whether you see this post good or not, you must understand that we all have our own opinions and my opinions may not be according to your liking but at the end of the day, it is still up to you whether you will buy them or not.

It’s around 1970’s when Toru Naoe founded the “Bayou” company.  He studied and observed the benefits of horse which actually paved the way  to extend the popularity around the western country. Around 2000 an application was made to the US Personal Care Products Council to recognize horse oil as part of  skincare ingredient.

Many essential oils have been a part of skin care products, widely used are argan oil, geranium, lavander, tea tree oil, almond oil, different oils has different purposes some it helps heal skin irritations and gives moisture and prevents aging but most of the oils i have known comes either from fruits, plants or flowers. But there are also products that comes from sheep’s wool. You might have heard about Beeswax in lip balms and even lipsticks has red dye carmine, which is full of crushed up beetle bodies and also the slime of snails which was proven to be effective in giving a smooth skin or have you heard about Pig collagen which is another strange beauty ingredient offered by  Holika Holika’s Pig Collagen Jelly Pack.

So, the big idea of using horse oil into your skin regimen seems a little bit odd thinking of how it was produced.  I’m not a vegetarian but there is still a certain what if’s in my mind.

For some country like Japan and Europe, horse meat has been a part of their delicacy, never tried it and just the thought of slaughtering horse makes my heart not at ease.

Since, it’s been causing a great rave, this product is now being reproduced by fake companies. So, make sure to get only the original product since we could not determine the oil that comes from the fake one.  To verify the authenticity of your Gurerisson 9 Complex cream, make sure to check the bar code below the box.  It looks like this.  Some of the boxes differs but most of them provides the details of the website and the manufacturers name and can you see the hologram mark on the bottle itself, it should and must have a name of Claire’s and decorated with some flowers.

Claire’s has already made a post how to spot a fake product, you need to look into the label, box,. packaging, label and seal and of course the smell of the product.  I have not find a fake one but the original product has a citrus smell, it’s very prominent so you will not missed it.   The box also comes with a small scoop.

Yes, the box and packaging of the product is quite beautiful. It looks expensive inside and out but comes again the thought that this one comes from horses and i feel a bit weird about it.

Another plus factor on this product is it comes with a see though plastic spatula which is very hygienic instead of using just your fingers.

Uses & After Effect:

So, how can you include this on your six or ten skin care routine as the South Korean Skin Care regimen?

This product was promoted by well known Korean celebrity Lee Honey but we all know how good her skin was.

The cream has a pale yellow color and smells awfully nice.  I haven’t tried it in my face yet but since I have read that this is great for chicken skins and smooth skin but since it has a heavy feeling, it’s best used during night time also to help the skin absorbs the product.

It doesn’t feel greasy or oily and fast absorbing.  I am still debating whether I will use this on my face since I have been using out Laneige (another South Korean skin care) and testing how it will work on me.  For the meantime, i have been using it on my legs, hands,  feet and my stretch marks.

Yes, the picture below show it all. Look how it gives a hydrating and glossy look (this one is unfiltered and shot on daylight). It’s moisturizing formula  preserves the skin in its best condition for 72 hours.

Yes, it gives a long lasting effect and smooth feeling. Some says that they have break outs when using this on their face so make sure to do a spot test before finally using this in your face.

I bought this for Php 600 pesos or less than $3 on an online seller but you can get this online at Althea ( online shop shipped directly from Korea), you can also get this at or Amazon but make sure to buy on trusted online shops only.
